Testaferrata House, ta’ Tavlin

This is a country villa built by the Testaferrata family.  The villa had a big garden at the front.  The architectural details point to neo-Classical influences. The villa was probably built towards the end of the 18th century.  A big archway used to stand just outside the villa complex, but it was unfortunately dismantled in the 1960s.  It was known as the Tavlin Gate.
